We are recruiting a qualified or nearly qualified (CIMA) Assistant Management Accountant to join an established finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our manufacturing operations by providing accurate and timely financial information focusing on margin and variance analysis. This position is perfect for a proactive individual with strong analytical skills who wants to develop their career in Management Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts and completion of month end.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategies.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis between actual performance and budget/forecast, identifying key drivers of variances. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management for corrective actions or performance improvement.
  • Cost Accounting: Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labour, and overheads. Ensure accurate allocation of costs to products and projects.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation and management, ensuring accurate reporting and minimizing excess stock levels.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with operational teams to identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency, cost savings, and financial performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with production, supply chain, and other departments to provide financial guidance and support decision-making processes.

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified CIMA or Finalist with some experience gained in a manufacturing environment and a strong experience in variance analysis, cost accounting, and financial reporting. Highly developed IT Skills are a must and the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance colleagues is crucial to your success. Salary on the position is circa 30k- 40k.
