Senior Software Engineer - Focus on Performance Optimization Remote - UK/Europe We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a deep specialization in performance engineering. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in refining and extending the integration between our custom compiler and the core processing engine. Your contributions will drive efficiency and optimization, ensuring that our technology delivers maximum performance and scalability. Primary Responsibilities: Design and implement performance-enhancing optimizations for core algorithms, primarily in Java with some work in C++. Develop tailored code generation techniques using a domain-specific language (DSL) for specific operations. Establish and enforce rigorous benchmarking methodologies to evaluate the impact of performance-focused changes. Collaborate closely with internal teams to prioritize and deliver solutions that provide tangible benefits to real-world applications. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, production-ready code through diligent development, testing, and deployment practices. Spearhead new initiatives in performance-focused software development, particularly in areas related to compilers and system architecture. Skills and Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience working in performance optimization, ideally with large and complex codebases. Strong background in statically-typed compiled languages such as C++, Java, or Scala. Expertise in low-level interfacing between Java and C++ for performance-critical systems. In-depth knowledge of system-level libraries, CPU architecture, memory management, and hardware optimization techniques. Proficiency with CPU profiling tools and techniques to identify performance bottlenecks. Solid foundation in computer science principles, particularly algorithms and data structures.
