A rare opportunity has arisen to join the business as a Process Engineer, supporting the business unit in a varied role involving projects concerning process innovation and optimisation, product scale ups and new product introductions, and process improvement to optimise efficiency and reduce waste. Working closely with both R&D and manufacturing, the process engineer will provide a strong link between both departments, ensuring robust design for manufacture and that robust technical documentation is consistently reviewed and improved.

Key skills

  • A degree (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc) in a Mechanical or Chemical engineering discipline would be ideal, though other Engineering and Chemistry based qualifications will be considered.
  • Some post graduate experience as a process engineer, materials engineer, manufacturing engineer or continuous improvement engineer ideally in a web processing/web handling manufacturing environment (paper, tissue, fabric, foil, film, coating, plating, lamination)
  • Must have a detailed understanding of and track record in product introductions, process engineering and improvement using tools such as APQP, SPC, Cpk and Six Sigma, FMEA, process mapping
  • Strong overall project management skills
  • Ability to evidence quantifiable achievement around resolving product and process capability issues in a relevant manufacturing environment
  • Any knowledge of thermoplastics, polymers, plastics, composites, resins or coatings highly advantageous
  • Familiarity with automation and advanced process control also beneficial

Most importantly we seek a technically minded and data driven candidate, who enjoys working with numbers and doing statistical analysis, who can act as a conduit between different departments and engage others in project work, who has excellent time management and prioritisation skills. A well-presented, professional and articulate process engineer who is results driven and ambitious.

This role will involve some infrequent travel to other sites in UK and potentially Europe

This is a site based role based Wrexham
