Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Account Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Joining the team in a new phase of the businesses journey, the Commercial Account Manager will help bring new customers and diversify the core business. Responsibility for both onboarding and maintaining relationships with new customers - including terms of business, costings, service levels and day to day communications.

Some elements of the role will benefit from a wider project management experience relevant to onboarding customers alongside excellent interpersonal skills. Carefully selecting customers and products to balance production will be key.

The role will sit as part of the wider Commercial Team, reporting into the Commercial Director but will interact across the whole business.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Attracting new customers - will involve UK travel, most likely across Scotland
  • Maintain and build existing relationships - use a variety of touchpoints and techniques to build strong trusted relationships
  • Working with Costing lead to ensure for new opportunities are thorough with business case shared across Leadership Team
  • Ensure all functions within business are aligned and in agreement with opportunities and timelines are well communicated
  • Ensure new volumes are planned and capacities understood
  • Opportunity to learn the core business and take on responsibility for categories
  • Some customers will require New Product Development so you will work closely with this team to ensure where possible the business stays ahead of the curve

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience of similar role
  • Strong Microsoft skills - Teams, Powerpoint & Excel will be critical
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication
  • Organised, detail orientated and the ability to multitask, prioritise and respond quickly
  • Sales motivated, team focused attitude and willingness to collaborate with peers
  • Experience with planning and forecasting
  • Experience within manufacturing or fresh food industries would be advantageous
