1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Croydon, South East London September 2024 £100 - £120 per day PAYE Specialist Social Emotional and Mental Health School A specialist setting based in Croydon is in need of a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a male sixth form student with learning difficulties, cerebral palsy and ADHD. This pupil is a kind and unique individual in need of a resilient and robust SEN Teaching Assistant to support his learning and development at school. This school supports students facing barriers to learning in mainstream, many of whom have experienced past trauma, faced adverse life experience or be struggling with mental health issues and have behaviours that are unable to be accommodated in mainstream schools. Pupil needs are high, and having an understanding and empathy for students struggling with their mental health is an essential quality for this role. Similarly, to have an appreciation for the ways in which students may express their needs through physically aggressive or verbally abusive behaviour is vital.
