Our client, an established defence manufacturing firm, are seeking experienced Buyers to join them. This is the perfect role for a Senior Buyer with manufacturing industry & procurement experience to take a step up and make an impact in a new team! What the role of the Manufacturing Buyer entails: Some of the main duties of the Manufacturing Buyer will include: Providing support to sourcing and procurement activities, supporting strategic procurement initiatives and negotiating on projects across multiple business units Taking a lead role in the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to contract negotiation / execution and ongoing Supplier Performance and Relationship Management Conducting and participating in market reviews with the supply chain to identify innovation and CI Driving the commodity/manufacturing capability strategy throughout the business. Providing challenge into the conventional way of thinking and procuring, in order to develop innovative contracting solutions Managing and influencing internal stakeholders across the businessWhat experience you need to be the successful Manufacturing Buyer: Essential Demonstrable track record of Manufacturing Procurement / Commercial acumen Supplier management experience Multi-site procurement and stakeholder management experience Proven skills of working within a complex supply chain environment such as: manufacturing, large retailers, oil & gas, aerospace, automotive, nuclear etc. Experience of buying heavy plant machinery and equipment specifically within a manufacturing environment Knowledge of negotiating complex international framework agreements.
