About the Role
Are you a passionate, dedicated Children’s Social Worker with experience in supporting children in care? The Isle of Wight Local Authority is seeking a compassionate and skilled Social Worker to join our Children Looked After Team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, well-being, and stability of children and young people in care. You’ll work within a supportive, collaborative team environment, focused on providing exceptional care and empowering children to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
Manage a diverse caseload of children and young people in care, supporting them in achieving stability and positive outcomes.
Build meaningful relationships with children and young people, listening to and acting upon their needs, concerns, and aspirations.
Develop and implement care plans that promote safety, educational attainment, and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including health, education, and mental health professionals, to provide holistic support.
Attend and contribute to reviews, court proceedings, and other key meetings, ensuring each child’s voice is central to decision-making.
Maintain accurate records, assessments, and reports to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Degree in Social Work and current Social Work England registration.
Proven experience in working with children looked after and an understanding of the challenges they face.
Strong assessment and care planning skills.
Excellent communication, empathy, and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
