Biotalent is partnering with a leading Biotech company who have made significant advancement in identifying small molecules targeting valuable biological targets. They are looking for a strong leader to join them as the Head/VP of Chemistry.This role can be based in London, UK or in Switzerland (near Lugano).Job Specifics:As the Head/VP of Chemistry, you will lead the chemistry department and drive the strategy for a unique pipeline of small molecule projects targeting proteins. You will build and maintain a highly collaborative, motivating, and success-driven environment, operating with a high degree of creativity and flexibility.Your role will include defining and executing hiring and staffing plans, onboarding and training new hires, and providing leadership to advance first-in-class projects. This role will report to the CSO.You will prepare for internal and external presentations of scientific progress, strategies, plans, resources, assumptions, risks, and data that support conclusions.You will be working closely with biology and other scientific leaders to ensure overall program success and aligning closely with the executive team on corporate goals are also part of your responsibilities.For chemistry support, you will be involved in the selection and management of CROs.You will prepare for presentations at, Board Meetings, investor calls, and BD meetings.Additionally, you will define and execute IP strategy in the context of small molecule filings, working with the CSO, COO, CBO, CEO, and external legal team.Job Requirements:PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.Extensive experience in small molecule drug discovery in similar level (Director/Head/VP) in a Biotech/Pharma industry.Experience in leading and managing teams of scientists.
