Reception Class Teaching Assistant

About the Role: SANZA Teaching Agency is excited to offer an opportunity for a nurturing and enthusiastic Reception Class Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Southwark. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), particularly those with special educational needs (SEN). This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about early years education and has experience working with SEN children, ensuring they have a positive and engaging start to their school journey. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with special educational needs in the Reception class. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs). Support children with a range of SEN, including speech and language delays, autism, and developmental delays. Assist in delivering engaging and sensory-focused activities tailored to the needs of the children. Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Monitor the progress of SEN students and provide feedback to staff and parents.Requirements: Previous experience working with SEN children, ideally within the EYFS or early primary settings. A good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Relevant qualifications (such as NVQ/CACHE Level 2 in Childcare or SEN) are desirable but not essential.Why work with SANZA?
