CFO/FD Opportunity – High-Growth Equipment Rental Business
We have been mandated for an exciting CFO/FD opportunity with a market-leading and fast-growing company that provides rental equipment solutions, serving sectors such as construction, engineering and naval industries.
Over the last few years, the business has achieved significant revenue growth, with turnover in the region of £30m. The company has ambitious plans to double profitability within the next 3 years.
As the CFO/FD, you will play a pivotal role in supporting this phase of the company’s growth. Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, your responsibilities will include steering the business through significant change, managing financial transparency, and overseeing controls to ensure ongoing financial success. You will also be tasked with driving operational efficiencies and enhancing the company’s strategic financial planning during this critical phase of expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the professionalization of the finance function, enhancing financial performance and reporting.
- Assess and develop the skills and capabilities of the finance team, ensuring the team is equipped to meet business objectives.
- Manage external funding relationships and oversee fixed asset management and lease financing.
- Assist in new market expansion into sectors and US territory, positioning the business for future growth.
- Business Partner with the CEO and board to prepare the company for an eventual exit strategy/ external PE Investment.
Requirements:
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified accountant (or CCAB equivalent) with proven experience in senior financial roles (CFO/FD).
- Proven success in driving growth within dynamic environments, with expertise demonstrated in areas such as contract supply, equipment rental, construction, engineering, or infrastructure.
- Proven track record in scaling businesses.
- Experience with companies of £75m+ turnover.
- US market experience would be beneficial but not essential.
Exit experience desirable though not essential.
Salary: £150k to £250k base salary (commensurate with experience), with an LTIP Plan.
Location: Based in the South East, working full time office hours.
