Transport Planner

Transport Planner Pay: £14.40 p/h Hours: 4 ON 4 OFF, 07.00-19.00 (60 mins unpaid break) Location: Widnes, WA8 0PB Contract: Temporary, Maternity cover. Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to work at a busy distribution site, based in Widnes. As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in optimising our client's transportation operations to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods to their customers. Duties will include: Coordinating the assignment of drivers. Assigning drivers to routes while considering Working Time Directive regulations. Utilising the Microlise Transportation Management System. Monitoring and managing the fleet to minimise downtime and maximise utilisation. Frequent utilisation of spreadsheets to a significant extent. Generating reports and key performance indicators for management review. Staying up to date with transportation regulations and compliance requirements. Ensuring quick and effective responses to unforeseen challenges. Skills and experience required: Proven experience in transport planning within a distribution or logistics environment. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices. Proficiency in using route optimisation software and transportation management systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
