We are currently on the lookout for a strong Planning Manager / Associate Director level Planner to work for a fast growing consultancy who operate in London & South East. This role will be to lead a new Planning Function working within the existing consultancy business.
This is the perfect opportunity to join a business with pathway to starting and running a subsidiary specialist Planning Consultancy, with the support of existing directors of the parent consultancy after a period of six to 8 months. The consultancy specialise within Infrastructure & Building and have grown from strength to strength over a 20 year period.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience working as a Planning Manager or Associate Director either from a contractor or consultancy background (mix would be ideal)
- Progressed from an Engineering background, ideally with a Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- Previous experience working in the Infrastructure sector
- Appetite to progress career within a business ownership role within a set timeframe
- Be able to utilise business contacts and own contacts to win work
- Expert knowledge in Planning software (P6, ASTA, Microsoft Project etc.)
- Chartered Engineer would be preferred but not essential
Responsibilities:
- Build network through clients existing contacts and own contracts to grow the business Planning presence across London & South East
- Build relationships and be able to demonstrate businesses planning capabilities to new and existing clients
- Understanding of different opportunities within planning, general day to day planning & Programmes, dispute & resolution, Risk Analysis and Expert Witness experience would be beneficial but not essential
- Manage & grow a team of existing planners, aiding their professional development and actively engaging in opportunities to keep them busy
- Represent the business and networking events & conferences
- Able to deliver a Planning service to clients built off the back of experience gained, including consulting and programme management
- Taking leadership of clients requirements autonomously
- Be able to understand NEC3 / NEC4 & JCT contracts
