The Cyber Resilience Lead will report directly to the Cyber Resilience Manager, forming part of Information Security Team. You will play an integral role in promoting a strong cyber incident management and resilience culture across Thames Water, reducing cyber risk to our essential services.


What you’ll be doing as a Cyber Resilience Lead

  • Establishing and maintaining Cyber Remediate Tracker, providing centralised oversight and coordination of identified improvements from post incidents, exercising, and testing.
  • Lead effective planning of cyber incident exercises/testing through engaging with wider incident management and security teams, as well as external suppliers.
  • Maintaining oversight of cyber incident management and resilience actions required for our regulatory submissions.
  • You will need to engage with external governing bodies and water sector organisations to encourage cross sector incident response improvements.
  • An expectation to design and develop a maturity model to demonstrate the effectiveness of cyber incident management testing and exercising.


Base Location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court Reading with some days required in the Reading office

Working Pattern – 36 hours


What you should bring to the role

  • Ability to take a complex/technical requirement or solution and adapt communications to a non-technical audience so that the business impact can be widely understood.
  • Excellent stakeholder communications/engagement skills with the acumen to articulate confidential, sensitive, or important issues and solutions in a nuanced and balanced way
  • To have experience in translating incident management risks, challenges, and solutions into quantifiable data/benchmarking.
  • An ability to apply original and innovative thinking to produce new ideas.
  • Extent experience leading cyber incident response efforts within organisations that rely on both information and operational technology.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining incident management plans, procedures and policies.


Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience in Cyber Resilience or Incident Management
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks, industry standards/best

  • Competitive salary from £50,000 to £60,000 per annum depending on experience
