Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Birmingham Sector: Fit-Out Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (Depending on Experience) Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic fit-out team, specializing in commercial, retail, and industrial projects. The successful candidate will ideally come from a drylining and partitioning background, with a strong understanding of the fit-out process. Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor: Prepare cost estimates and procurement schedules for fit-out projects, with a focus on drylining and partition systems. Manage budgets and monitor project expenditures to ensure cost control from inception to completion. Conduct valuations and assessments of project progress, ensuring financial accuracy at each stage. Assist in procurement and subcontractor management, negotiating contracts, and managing variations. Collaborate closely with the commercial and project teams to ensure that all financial and contractual obligations are met. Use Chalkstring software for takeoffs, estimating, and cost management, ensuring streamlined and efficient project delivery. Analyze and report on project costs, identifying areas for cost-saving through value engineering. Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the fit-out sector. Strong background in drylining, partitions, and other specialist interior systems. Knowledge and experience in using Chalkstring software for estimating and project management are highly desirable. Process-driven with a keen eye for detail and excellent organizational skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and subcontractors effectively. Ambitious and proactive, with a desire to drive projects forward and achieve cost-effective solutions. Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000, depending on experience.
