Intervention Teacher - Trauma - Mental Health - Woking Would you like to work with young people who need support with their social, emotional mental health? The School: The school is based in Woking and provides support for children aged 9-16 years who have a range of learning and behavioural needs due to social, emotional and mental health challenges. All students that attend the school have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) which details their specific needs in terms of the care and support they will have access to. The pupils at the school can struggle to form string, healthy relationships and can present high levels of anxiety and challenging behaviour. The school is part of a large Trust acros the country. All the schools in the Trust have access to training and CPD, so as a member of staff, you will have access to high levels of ongoing support and training which will help your career to progress. This opportunity is very much open to more experienced practitioners or recent graduates that are keen to kick start their career in special needs. What is involved: Delivering intervention lessons for KS3/4 aged pupils, bridging gaps in learning, building confidence and self esteem Delivering a range of subjects including maths and English Managing children's behaviour during the school day and supporting their learning and participation in class Encouraging the development of social skills and supporting students' individual needs Participating in team meetings and training programmes as an active member of a team Maintaining progress records Supporting regulations pertaining to safeguarding What is required: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) KS1 and KS2 SEMH experience with the ability to work with KS3 and KS4 year groups Not suitable for NQTs If you're a primary teacher switching from mainstream, you'll have to clearly demonstrate examples from work or personal life that justifies your interest in working in this type of setting Flexibility in terms of working patterns Summary: Intervention Teacher - Trauma - Mental Health £130 to £190 daily rate (5-day week - 30am to 4.30pm) Special needs school - SEMH - EHCP Full time and part time roles, flexible working hours and short and long term contracts January 2023 start, or sooner for those that are available Apply now or contact Eleanor Chessun-Lawrence at Academics Ltd: 01483 362 636 Candidates registering with Academics Ltd will need to have or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate.
