Driven by curiosity, integrity, and a passion for making a difference, we bring original and impactful perspectives to the biggest questions facing business and society.Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Performance, Productivity, and Efficiency (PPE) practice within our Data Science & Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE). The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering complex and high-impact projects that help clients improve operational efficiency, benchmark performance, and meet regulatory requirements.As a Senior Consultant, you will work closely with clients across regulated and competitive sectors, applying your expertise in performance benchmarking, productivity analysis, and efficiency modelling. You will collaborate with a team of leading experts, contributing to the development of economic models and frameworks that shape regulatory frameworks and support business transformation.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage projects focused on performance benchmarking, productivity analysis, and efficiency assessments for clients across a range of sectors, including water, energy, communications, transport, and health.Develop and apply economic models and methodologies to identify operational improvements and set performance targets.Deliver compelling economic reports to competition authorities, regulators, and courts across Europe and beyond.Provide expert advice and evidence on performance and efficiency issues in regulatory contexts, including price reviews, regulatory disputes, and regulatory framework design.Support non-regulatory clients with market power assessments, contract evaluations, and efficiency defence arguments in competition inquiries.Collaborate with academic and technical experts to ensure that our methodologies are grounded in the latest research and best practices.Engage with clients and stakeholders, including regulators, companies, and competition authorities, to ensure that project outcomes are aligned with their needs and objectives.Mentor and develop junior team members, contributing to the growth and success of the PPE practice.Qualifications & Experience:Advanced degree in economics, data science, mathematics, or a related field.Proven experience in performance benchmarking, productivity analysis, and/or efficiency modelling, ideally within a consultancy or regulatory environment.Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and the role of benchmarking and efficiency analysis in both regulated and competitive markets.Experience in delivering high-quality economic reports and evidence to competition authorities, regulators, or courts.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and apply complex economic models.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex findings to a range of audiences.Experience in project management, with the ability to lead and deliver multiple projects on time and within budget.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.Preferred Skills:Familiarity with specialist software and tools used in efficiency modelling and productivity analysis.Experience in working with regulated sectors, particularly in the UK and European contexts.Track record of published work in relevant peer-reviewed journals or industry publications.Why Join Oxera?
