18 Recruitment have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager working for our client, a leading Facilities Management company.
* The roles would be suited to PM’s ideally with some experience of Ministry of Defence/DIO contracts or projects, who are used to working through the RIBA stage plan in a highly governed environment with a civil service partner. Similar industry experience may be transferrable from Nuclear/Highways/MoJ/NHS etc or other central government/regulated environment. The key skills you will need to succeed are:-
* High levels of attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to manage and retain a high volume of information and produce technical documents of high quality and accuracy
* Understanding of the various stages of pre construction activity and experience of design and tendering would be beneficial
* Experience of with evaluation of technical tender and commercial documents and familiarity with NRM pricing
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a challenging environment and provide regular reports to management
* Highly Desirable: Chartered membership of Construction/Engineering/Facilities or Project Management and/or equivalent qualifications e.g. MCIOB, M/AssocRICS, MAPM, MCIAT, Prince 2, NEBOSH, IOSH, APM, PMP etc. or equivalent
* Capacity to manage multiple projects and workstreams whilst maintaining focus on quality and timescales
* Mon to Fri 08:00 to 18:00 with some flexibility required for travel to sites and occasional overnight stays
* Valid SC Clearance preferred (BPSS will be required before commencement)
* chartered membership of Construction/Engineering/Facilities or Project Management and/or equivalent qualifications e.g. MCIOB, M/AssocRICS, MAPM, MCIAT, Prince 2, NEBOSH, IOSH etc. or equivalent
* The role involves managing all aspects of the project lifecycle up to Contract negotiation stage. The role involves:
* Investigate tasks at requirements stage
* Support the production of Rough order of Costs and deliverability assessments
* Validate scopes and produce project specification documents/SOW
* Procure and organise on site surveys, feasibility studies and early design work
* Obtain design approval and prepare document packs and issue to the contractor market for tender
* Manage the tender process to completion including, RFI’s, evaluation, commercial settlement
* Prepare documents for Firm Price submissions to DIO for approval
* Once complete, projects are normally handed over to the delivery PM team who manage all construction activities
* Preference will be given to candidates within easy commute of Surrey/Berkshire/Hampshire/Middlesex/Buckinghamshire/South Oxfordshire
* 6 months with possibility of extension - to start immediately subject to Security Clearance
* This is a fast-paced environment with high project turnover, typical project values between £100k and £1m but you may be asked to develop projects in their early stages up to £5m.
* Frequent travel across the MOD estate will be required therefore it is essential you have a full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle
