Role: Java Engineer
Location: London (2x per week onsite)
Calling all Java engineers with experience in Java, Scala and ideally commercial and enterprise applications!
We are currently supporting a leading SaaS provider, based in London, who are on an exciting journey of transformational growth. As a business, they are a product focused company, offering a cutting-edge hybrid observability platform powered by AI.
Their innovative platform integrates AI and Machine Learning into every layer, empowering modern enterprises to achieve unparalleled operational visibility and predictability across their IT environments. This supports in enhancing IT team efficiency, reducing alert fatigue, and proactively identifying trends.
They are looking for a Java Engineer with the following skillset:
- Over 6 years of experience in software development, particularly in commercial or enterprise environments.
- More than 4 years of focused Java development, dedicated to producing clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code, while actively pursuing modern software engineering methodologies.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Scala programming.
- Experience in designing and scaling machine learning applications.
- Familiar with testing frameworks such as JUnit.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Strong ability to collaborate with development teams and foster reliable, effective relationships among team members.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, including Support Engineering, Tools, and Product.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
What will you be doing?
- Plan and manage deliverables using an agile development approach.
- Develop, document, implement, and test solutions for new systems or improve existing ones.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create software products that align with business growth objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members in design and technical implementation.
- Interpret business requirements to define system features and capabilities.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues in products or applications, particularly in escalated support cases.
- Work closely with a global development team spread across the US, UK, and Asia.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, contributing insights on emerging technologies relevant to the role.
- Address complex performance and design challenges with advanced technical expertise.
- Continuously refine the development workflow and optimize the deployment process.
