Job Description

Our story

Beams is on a mission to make home renovation simpler and greener. We’re doing this by building a revolutionary technology platform and marketplace for homeowners and contractors so they can plan, design and build all in one place.

From the moment the customer starts to plan their renovation and selects their design, to final completion, the Beams platform offers a seamless journey, allowing homeowners to take a back seat and oversee construction, while Beams-vetted contractors deliver projects tailored to their clients’ tastes.

This is a unique opportunity to completely overhaul the UK’s attitude to interior design and renovation. We’re well on our way having cultivated a community of top-quality contractors, developed a stream of projects sold, and built a sophisticated supplier ecosystem to support each home renovation.

We’re seeking to grow our team of renovation project managers, grow our contractor community and build out processes & systems to help us bring this vision to life. We want people that can challenge the norms for how renovations work today by identifying better ways to deliver on the customer experience of our contractors and customers throughout the build.

The role

Reporting to our Head of Build, you will play a pivotal role in refining how we cost our build projects, coordinating scheduling of contractors for client works, and ensuring delivery of high quality work to our customers within budget and on time. This role is based 3 days a week out of our office in Old Street.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with our planning and design teams to price and validate construction costs associated with our internal renovations
  • Work with product to input cost estimates into our costing database, validating line items of work to build a more efficient and accurate construction cost
  • Manage a set of projects, conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, reviewing build quality, address issues and queries on site, manage site teams to budget, timeline and quality requirements. Coordinate and collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage and validate construction costs and requests for additional charges from ongoing projects
  • Build knowledge and expertise related to construction costs and processes, contractors and build processes: support sales efforts as needed.
