The Senior Technical Expert (6-month fixed-term contract) will be responsiblefor optimizing the technical attributes of our last-mile vehicle fleet. Youwill own critical work-streams that focus on keeping our EU fleet at thehighest possible standard. You will strive to always be data driven whilemaking judgements from the field to ensure the corrects actions are made toprotect the customer, the fleet and operations. To be successful inthis role, you possess strong technical capabilities with an equally strongability to analyze, solve and communicate complex problems. A successfulcandidate will be analytical, resourceful, customer-focused and team oriented.The candidate will have a proven track record in navigating complex technicalproblem settings, being hands on in finding fact-based solutions, in atechnical capacity in the automotive industry – preferably with commercialvehicles, and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamicbusiness environment. The Last Mile team within Amazon Logistics is looking for an experiencedVehicle technical expert to drive Amazon Logistics technical fleetcapabilities. Key job responsibilities - Owns the optimization of technical attributes of our expanding vehiclefleet and innovates on behalf our customers - Is capable of taking accountability and driving planning, resolution andexecution in complex technical projects. - Works independently, has a strong drive to identify improvement potentialand manages projects from idea to implementation. - Is comfortable challenging internal stakeholders on existing practices andexternal partners in their limitations and capabilities. - Strong ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and workindependently to create appropriate action plans for those goals. - Strong analytical orientation; comfort using databases and analytical toolsand making data-based decisions. - Strong Project management capabilities; An ability to assess risks, makedecisions, manage execution and report accordingly. A day in the life A day in the life of a VCM team member is never the same. The day is splitevenly between; reactive escalations about field issues, project work toprogress field resolutions, weekly cadence and teamdevelopment activities.Prioritization is critical in this team, and the stack-ranking of workload isever-changing due to our reactive nature. Its fast paced, fun, interesting andchallenging, the result of which makes for a very rewarding workload. About the team The team is small, agile and technically astute. We make decisions on behalfof a 30K strong fleet, and position ourselves as the technical voice of AMZL.As we push towards a standardized methodology, we search out gaps in ourprocesses to ensure we are ever-improving and seek excellence. ### BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- A degree in Engineering or a similar relevant field - Extensive experience in technical program management, technical developmentor related technical roles in the commercial mobility (vans, trucks buses) orthe automotive industry - Experience working in x-functional teams - Experience with business reporting - Ability to travel 25% of the time ### PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- MBA or M.Sc. in Engineering or a similar relevant field - Strong customer focus - Experience in managing complex technical programs with multiple internaland external actors - Experience in aggregating information and communicating effectively tointernal and external stakeholders, incl. Amazon senior management - A record of accomplishment in delivering results in a scrappy, fast-pacedenvironment - A history of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get thejob done Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
