The Vacancy

Claims Handler - Noise Induced Hearing Loss

Location: Successful candidates will be expected to attend one of the offices at least once per week, in either Glasgow/Stoke/Leeds or Liverpool.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9:00am to 17:00pm.

Davies is on the lookout for a Claims Handler experienced with Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) Claims to enhance our growing Casualty team.

A Glimpse into Your Daily Responsibilities:

  • Liaison: Communicate with insurers, policyholders, and brokers.
  • Investigation: Handle allocated claims, either from your desk or by referring them to a field adjuster for on-site investigation when necessary.
  • Evidence Gathering: Obtain all relevant evidence and documentation.
  • Resolution: Determine appropriate actions to resolve each case.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, advising on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics as needed.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements within agreed authority limits.
  • Professional Correspondence: Maintain proactive communication with all parties involved.
  • Adherence to Procedures: Handle cases according to documented procedures and client requirements.
  • Reserve Management: Regularly review and maintain proper reserves.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on technical changes relevant to your role, including participating in company-facilitated training programs.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proficiency in managing Claims from cradle to grave.
  • Experience managing NIHL (Noise Induced Hearing Loss).
  • Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Management of personal caseload.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and versatility.


Desirable:

  • Experience with the investigation of Liability Claims.
  • Knowledge of how to value injury claims.
  • Familiarity with reserving strategies.
  • Exceptional communication abilities across various levels..
