LOCATION: Loughborough

SALARY: £28,000 - £30,000

HOURS: Full time Mon to Fri 8.30am – 5pm

COMPANY BENEFITS: Pension, 25 days holidays

JR Personnel are an employment agency acting on behalf of a client who is looking for an Import Co-ordinator. Our client is looking for someone that has mainly worked on the importing side so you must understand all the freight terms and freight forwarders to know what good rates look like. You will need to be a self-starter as it is a stand-alone role. You must be decisive and not afraid to negotiate and push to get the best terms and lead times.

ROLE PROFILE:

* Develop import strategies for Europe and India

* Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders and customs

* Manage all import documentation

* Securing freight forwarding contracts

* Always adhering to compliance and regulations

* Monitoring shipment schedules

* Resolving import issues that may arise

* Evaluating and selecting which transportation methods to use

* Contributing to the team and business improvement process and offering ideas

* Lots of ad hoc duties

PERSON PROFILE:

* Someone who is great at negotiating

* Self-motivated

* Can problem solve

* Possess excellent communication skills

* Be a self-starter

* Make decisions

* Able to prioritise workload be upbeat and positive in nature

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

* Experience working within an office-based import environment

* Highly organised with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Experience in MS Office

DESIRED CRITERIA:

* Ideally with existing contacts within an import business

* Manufacturing/construction industry experience would be advantageous

* Own transport

* Knowledge of a CRM Database System
