Your New Role
Whilst working as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Engineer you will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. Your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Ensure compliance with HSEQ Policies & Procedures, safe systems of work, and legislative requirements • Take personal responsibility for safety and ensure risks are eliminated or controlled during maintenance activities • Ensure effective maintenance of all equipment and facilities to maximise equipment availability • Complete mechanical and electrical repairs, minimising downtime and disruptions to production • Investigate equipment failures to determine root causes and implement solutions to maximise equipment availability • Collaborate with OEMs when necessary to resolve complex issues.

Assist in developing planned maintenance schedules for all equipment to ensure operational safety and compliance • Ensure adequate stocks of spares and lubricants are maintained to support continuous production • Use Engage Software to document corrective actions and improvements related to health & safety • Promote best practice standards for housekeeping and tidiness in the work area • Take corrective action regarding housekeeping, unsafe acts, or adherence to HSEQ rules and procedures.

Work in partnership with production to improve equipment availability, effectiveness, and product quality • Participate in information sharing and teamwork to continuously improve equipment and facilities • Support the installation of new equipment and plant as required • Act as an advocate for company culture and values by demonstrating integrity, sustainability, customer care, wellbeing, and innovation in all aspects of your work and interactions with colleagues • Adhere to all Company Health and Safety policies at all times, wearing the correct PPE while working in the plant and yard, and taking responsibility for personal safety and that of colleagues • Any other duties commensurate with the role and within capabilities.

What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and experience:
Essential Criteria:
Medically fit to undertake the physical requirements of the job • Time-served electrical and/or mechanical engineer • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering • Proven experience and knowledge of fault-finding and repair on automated machinery, electrical control systems, Servo drives, PLC's, mechanical drive systems • Must be able to read electrical drawings • Ability to record and report maintenance data precisely • Must be able to diagnose and solve problems • Computer literate.

Good communication skills, both oral and written • Adherence and appreciation for housekeeping standards • Ability to work to strict deadlines • Sound technical ability and knowledge of health & safety in the workplace • Flexibility of working hours • Flexibility to perform various tasks, breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement project work • Good timekeeper • Be able to respond to call-outs outside normal working hours • Able to work shifts and overtime as required.

Desirable Criteria:
At least 3 years industrial maintenance experience in a production environment • Experience with Siemens PLC's and SEW Drives and Motors • Proven experience and knowledge of fault-finding and repair on hydraulic and pneumatic systems • Fabrication experience, e.g. Welding

What You'll Get In Return
You will receive a competitive hourly rate which is also supplemented with a 25% shift premium (where applicable). The core hours of the working week are 40, spread across Monday to Friday with an enhanced OT rate paid beyond.
