Data Scientist

Duration : 6 Months Position : R Developer Location : Hybrid Job Type : Contract Rate: £500 – 700/day DOE Status: Outside IR35 Clearance: Eligible for SC Summary : My consultancy client is looking for an R Developer to assist with critical project work over the coming months. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science using R/Python, any knowledge of financial services (tax data) would be beneficial. Responsibilities : Develop, maintain, and optimize R scripts. Use R to clean, transform, and analyse large-scale tax datasets. Design and implement statistical models to identify patterns and insights in data. Automate recurring analyses and reporting using R. Prepare technical documentation and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Skills : Proficiency in R programming for data analysis and statistical modelling. Strong experience in handling and analysing large datasets. Solid knowledge of statistical techniques such as regression analysis, clustering, and hypothesis testing. Familiarity with tax data or financial data is preferred. Experience with SQL or other database query languages. Experience with Docker and deploying R-based applications. Ability to visualize data insights using tools like ggplot2, Shiny, or other R packages. Strong understanding of data cleaning, pre-processing, and validation methods. Experience with version control (Git). Strong communication skills to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders. Key Experience : Experience working with government tax datasets or in the public sector. Familiarity with machine learning techniques for predictive analysis.
