A well established manufacturing company who specialise in bespoke machinery automation projects is now seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing but stable team. Ref: 22079 Mechanical Design Engineer - The Role: ? Produce mechanical designs from concept to production ? Carry out mechanical design to meet business and customer specified requirements ? Provide a high level of commercial awareness to ensure design solutions are delivered in a cost-effective manner & scope changes are managed in accordance with standard operation procedures ? Ensure schedules are understood and workload is managed to meet objectives ? Utilise third party/supplier software to calculate specific requirements ? Implement company and external standards ? Conduct risk assessments of machinery ? Provide expert input to ensure that the most economical / advantageous design strategy is adopted through collaboration ? Occasional visits to site within the UK Mechanical Design Engineer - The Person: ? Minimum HNC qualified in a relevant mechanical discipline of significant industry experience ? Possess a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles ? Competent in all technical aspects of mechanical design and development of special purpose machinery ? Experience in delivering solutions to technical problems ? Experience of working within a multi–skilled environment (i.e. knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components) ? Experience of technical projects including working to tight timescales throughout the project life cycle ? 3D CAD design experience essential – Solidworks preferred Located in Yorkshire, this role would be commutable from Bradford, Shipley, Pudsey, Leeds, Skipton and surrounding areas.
