Head of Health and Safety

Are you looking for a Senior Health and Safety Opportunity within a business that have strong engagement towards Health and Safety? Principal People are exclusively supporting an agricultural company who are looking for a new team member to join the business. The company are looking for a Head of Health and Safety and the position will consist of managing the Health and Safety for the very unique and successful business. The role will be very operational and will involve a lot of ‘hands on’ Health and Safety throughout the site teams. You will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) who are all incredibly engaged towards Health and Safety. The role will be instrumental in developing and applying a positive safety strategy across the company. The role will consist of covering multiple locations so you will have a great opportunity to be autonomous and coach positive safety actions to teams that want to learn and improve. You will be working on a full hybrid schedule with travel to Ireland and 3 sites in the UK. The company have a core safety team in place and this role will involve day to day management of the very efficient Health and Safety Team who are individually based at some of the locations. The key duties include: Offering appropriate advice and support to the site teams within Health and Safety matters Implementing practical and effective methods to promote awareness to Health and Safety Coaching local and senior management on being responsible for individual Health and Safety Matters Conductions risk assessments and accident investigations when they occur Developing and implementing the Health and Safety Strategy throughout the business Create and conduct training packages to team members of all levels to help improve the standard of safety Forming good relationships with external agencies such as the HSE / HAS and liaising with them across the group Creating positive relationships with the site teams to help improve the HSE Culture across the sites Why you should apply for the role?: You will be working in a fast-paced environment, where every day is different and you will be exposed to different risks which will enhance your personal Health and Safety Career The business are very supportive towards HSE and adhere to their 5 core values You will have a good mix of being both operational and strategic regarding Health and Safety Matters The business are a market leader within their field and have very impressive order books and growth plans The company are owned by a larger International business so progression routes will be available spreading into Europe The business are heavily focused on relationships internally and have a positive culture which has been key to their success You will be the responsible individual for safety across the whole group, offering you an opportunity to lead from the front We would love to see CV’s from people who have: Diploma in HSE Discipline (NEBOSH / BSc / NVQ) Agricultural, Manufacturing, Production background will be prefered Valid Driving License / Passport are essential Experience of managing Health and Safety Compliance The drive and passion for Health and Safety Development and Improvement If you would like to learn more and if the opportunity is of interest, please apply today
