THE ROLE:

We need a capable and experienced Senior Capture Artist who will lead and elevate capture projects and direct teams of junior artists when needed on multiplayer projects. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of game capture, capture project management, and trailer and content creation. They should be highly creative, collaborative, efficient, and capable of producing industry-leading capture and creative. Their metric for success will be to generate high quality capture and collaborate effectively and diplomatically. This is an onsite position, with remote work possible as projects allow.


This is a full-time staff role, with onsite work in a London based office initially with potential to evolve into a flexible hybrid work-from-home role.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Capture cinematic, compelling, and industry-leading video and stills for trailers, social content, and a broad range of other applications for A+ projects and beyond. Create shots lists and documentation to support communication and cohesion between creative, editorial, graphics, and capture.
  • Within capture, exhibit high-skill gameplay skills, knowledge, and presentational technique.
  • Fully lead capture projects and direct various sizes of capture teams for both singleplayer and multiplayer assets.
  • Raise the capture quality and perspective bar for AAA+ projects and beyond. Work alongside editorial, creative leads, producers, designers, graphics artists, and beyond to develop bespoke styles and approaches to each asset and to achieve content that meets and exceeds the limits of our industry.
  • Capable of capturing for a wide variety of game genres and applications.
  • Manage time wisely and maintain peak efficiency by staying in close contact with project producers and creative leadership.
  • Play, explore, and break down the content and tools of games to know and share the DNA, capabilities, and opportunities therein.
  • Bring leadership, inspiration, knowledge, and insight to the capture team with consistency and enthusiasm.
  • Seek to guide, educate, and empower other artists so that they can succeed and achieve in current and future projects.
  • Work with the project producer to ensure the project is remaining in scope and on schedule
  • Respect and embody the values, standards, and culture of the Capture Department and Hammer at large.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-6+ years experience in game capture at an agency or publisher
  • Experience leading a spectrum of projects from solo cinematic single player trailers to large scale multiplayer projects.
  • Working knowledge of Unreal sequencer or other equivalent in-engine tools a huge plus
  • Experience creating detailed documentation for in-game debug tools
