Bishopstoke Park, are looking for an experienced Bank Chef de Partie to join our Kitchen Team.This may include weekend and evening shifts & would be to cover sickness & holidays.This is a Bank Role.Yyou will be working in a busy Kitchen at the heart of our Village providing services to a Village Restaurant (open 12:30-14:00) and providing 3 meals a day to our onsite Carehome.You will be working alongside a team of 5 chefs.Set in the parish of Bishopstoke within historic county of Hampshire. Our retirement village is located within a beautiful natural woodland, not far from the Itchen Navigation. Our 42-acre retirement village provides a carefully selected range of independent living accommodation alongside extensive communal facilities and beautiful surroundings to meet the varying needs of our residents.Reporting into the Head Chef, responsibilities will include but not limited to:• Setting up a section prior to a restaurant's opening• Cooking a specific portion of each plated meal• Assisting with marinating, cutting, and precooking foods • Cleaning their kitchen section before the restaurant closes• Cleaning and sanitising their area with warm water and soap.• Wrapping unused items and storing them in proper areas at the end of a shift• Plating food creatively and maximising customer enjoyment Required knowledge & experience:• Preferably a City & Guilds Qualification, NVQ, Btec or other qualification in Hospitality or Cheffing• Food Hygiene Qualification • At least 2 years' experience needed.• A Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) foundation course preferred or an equivalent • A Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Food Safety or an equivalent Required skills: • A good understanding of all sections of the kitchen• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Organisational skills • In-depth knowledge of the standards of cooking techniques• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.• Ability to learn new recipes and new cooking procedures.• Time management skills• Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a team environment.• Ability to solve problems.Anchor - a great place to workAnchor is England's largest not-for-profit providers of care and housing for older people.
