Lead DevOps Engineer

Lead AWS DevOps Engineer | AWS Payments Transformation in Tier 1 UK Bank | up to £80,000 in Manchester/Edinburgh | up to £105,000 in London A Tier 1 Bank is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to enhance their Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team as they complete the key elements of their AWS payments platform before its production launch later this year. The bank has been undergoing a complete payments transformation of which this project is a key component. In this role, you would be working inside the platform creating the pipelines for when they move into the cloud. Beyond going into production, this role will manage the platform, ensuring it meets customer needs, and is reliable and resilient. Experience required Strong AWS : deep understanding of AWS services and infrastructure DevOps and Terraform : expertise in CI/CD, configuration management, containers and IaC Scripting/coding proficiency : Bash, Python or Golang Cloud operations : experience running large mission critical workloads in AWS Security : knowledge of cloud security best practices and implementation Kafka : deploying, configuring, managing, and optimising Kafka infrastructure Cilium: to enhance networking, security, and observability ( People management : experience leading a small team of SREs or DevOps Engineers) There are 3 opportunities here, 1 of which will have people management. This is a permanent role based in London, Manchester or Edinburgh with hybrid working.
