Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Warwickshire Up to £60,000 benefits If you enjoy working on fast-paced EV projects and a wide variety of technologies where every day brings new challenges then this senior mechanical design engineer role would be the perfect fit. Working within a consultancy setting you will work on the design, analysis and development of cutting edge transmission, driveline and actuation systems for automotive, marine, aerospace and off-highway markets. Responsibilities: Mechanical design engineer Utilising state of the art simulation techniques and design tools to design, develop and prototype transmission, driveline and actuation systems from concept First principal engineering through design tools, calculations, analysis, simulation, drawings and technical reporting Specifying materials, processes and designs for the function of transmission, driveline and actuation components Taking ownership or supporting proposals/quotes from initiation through to submission with clients Collaborating on and owning technical projects and work packages for a variety of EV clients Skills required: Proven experience of transmission, driveline or actuation design and/or analysis for automotive, marine, aerospace, renewable energy applications or similar High standard of competency in design and CAE analysis of rotating systems A strong understanding of the fundamental principles of mechanical engineering and applying them to solve complex problems Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or similar Demonstrate that you have personally been responsible of designing a product or system to a set of requirements, used CAD to do geometry, understand analysis of components and created 2D manufacturing drawings Successfully supported small to medium sized projects both technically and commercially Proficiency in key software packages within drivetrain engineering (SMT MASTA, Romax, Creo, UGNX, Catia) Additional: The command of a foreign language is a benefit, particularly, French, German or Korean Awareness of the commercial approach of a consultancy business will be advantageous The company offers a vast array of benefits including hybrid working, ½ day Friday, bonus, pension, family/team fun days, EV purchase scheme and life assurance.
