About this Position: The role is focused on high-standard machining work within the Vehicle Development workshop. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Vehicle Development build team to create high-quality, reliable prototype vehicles, bucks, and rigs. This work will be critical for the testing and development of new vehicle technologies. A commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining the machining plant and equipment is essential, along with adherence to the company’s Health and Safety policies. Flexibility in working additional hours, including weekends, will be required as project schedules dictate. Job Responsibilities: * Execute high-standard machining work as requested by the Vehicle Development workshop teams. * Collaborate closely with the Vehicle Development build team to produce reliable prototypes, bucks, and rigs for effective testing of new vehicle technologies. * Manage and coordinate simultaneous work requests, handling conflicting priorities under tight deadlines. * Maintain responsibility for the care and maintenance of machining plant and equipment. * Be available to work additional hours, including weekends, to meet deadlines and project schedules. * Ensure compliance with company Health and Safety policies at all times. Experience Required: * Extensive experience in machining one-off and small-batch parts using both CNC and manual Mill and Lathe. * Preferred knowledge of motor vehicle architecture and operation. * Experience with up-to-date metallic and composite materials used in high-performance vehicle or aerospace industries. * Proficiency with computers, including the use of CATIA CAD for drawing viewing. * Ability to interpret 2D engineering specifications and drawings. * Capability to self-check and inspect completed machined parts. * Engineering-based apprenticeship or equivalent training in general engineering workshop skills
