Job summary The Regional Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager will be responsible forpartnering with a regional operations team in our Amazon Heavy & Bulky (AMXL)Network to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to allapplicable health and safety regulations. By leveraging principles of modernday safety science such as human performance, this individual will leadcontinuous improvement initiatives and influence operational leaders andsupport their teams to ‘operationalise’ safety to reduce safety risk in ourprocesses, supporting the provision of a safe and healthy working environmentfor our Associates. The successful candidate must be able to build trust and inspire confidencewith their operations team. Influence change by being able to clearlyarticulate how and why. Successfully support the building of risk foresightinto our operational practices and be able to analyse safety data. They must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistentmessages, both verbally and in writing. They must support and develop senioroperational leaders on WHS theory, practice, policies and assist the EUregional teams in embedding, simplifying and innovating our WHS standardsthroughout their sites. This role will be a single threaded leader focusing on compliance across AMXLEU Operations. Key job responsibilities • Possess a thorough understanding of UK & EU Health and safety regulationsand company policies. • Provide guidance and oversight to assure compliance to all applicable AmazonWHS Policies. • Measure the regions and sites’ performance against published requirements inWHS policies and identify improvement plans for the site to close allidentified gaps. • Ensure WHS record keeping and data integrity and provides operations withaccurate reporting (lead and lag) metrics to support business WHS initiatives. • Deliver projects on time to a high standard with operations. • Analyse WHS metrics to identify trends to justify the allocation ofappropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest. • Analyse Global Safety Peer Review results and develop and implementsolutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at otherFCs. • Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of theirresponsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (includingqualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required WHStraining. • Ensure our WHS talent is developed and their thinking is challenged to beconstantly at the front of professional practice. • Review the effectiveness of deployed WHS tools so they are simplified foruse and are adding value. • Partner with corporate and other regional field WHS personnel to leverageglobal WHS best practices into EUUK network standards. ### BASIC QUALIFICATIONS· several years of increasing responsibilities in health and safety programsin manufacturing, production, or service operations. · BSc in safety, ergonomics or a related field required · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfortinterfacing with Directors and VPs · Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies based onbroader organisation goals. · Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. · Ability to travel up to 40% ### PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS· Health and Safety , Master’s degree or equivalent preferred · Chartered Member of IOSH preferred (or equivalent), working towards will beconsidered · Experience in a fast-paced, changinggrowing organization · Handle changing priorities, able to work with ambiguity and use of goodjudgment in high paced environment. · Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCsacross the nation and globally · Prior experience in a leadership development training program · Track record of effectively leading an operation comprising both salariedand hourly staff · Develop others into higher levels of leadership in an organization Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
