Real Chemistry is looking for a project manager to join our growing team!


The Project Manager role is responsible for the successful delivery of projects across the portfolio of medical communications and marketing campaigns. This includes ensuring operational effectiveness through the management of delivery systems, project management systems and resource allocation processes. This position will need to work closely the account management and medical specialists to deliver the highest calibre client service. Will work closely with the PMO lead in accomplishing the goals set forth on an annual and quarterly basis.


The right person for this role will be curious about how a unique combination of Real Chemistry’s capabilities might bring an industry-first response to a client’s question. There are no “that won’t work”s in this person’s vocabulary. They are much more the type of person to jump in a room (or on a call for the time being) until we have a solution that “just might work”. This person should have experience and proven ability in planning, staffing and managing project within the medical communications and healthcare marketing industry, involving various partners and multi-functional in-house teams.


What you’ll do:

  • Define project goals, scope, schedule, and budget
  • Successfully assemble brief materials, kick-off projects, and operationalize requirements
  • Develop & maintain project plans including specific task assignments, dependencies between tasks, and dynamic start/end dates
  • Develop and maintain project workflows from start to finish
  • Work with resourcing to identify, allocate, and manage resources across project assignments
  • Route project materials between departments
  • Determine and mitigate risk factors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead internal and external project teams to produce project deliverables against documented timelines
  • Manage individuals across a range of disciplines including graphic designers, copywriters, medical writers, editors, and digital
  • Serve as the gateway between project teams and internal stakeholders translating requirements into actionable tasks, assigning and routing tasks to individuals, and managing deliverables against a project schedule
  • Keep projects on track through clear task lists, issue tracking, status reports, and meeting notes
  • Schedule and facilitate efficient meetings and conference calls with the ability to effectively setup the presentation of creative, education, and digital work
  • Clearly communicate project issues and resolution to the client and internal team
  • Be passionate about delivering the best content and creative, but find ways of project managing it that does not jeopardize schedule and budget
  • Maintain & distribute detailed notes, explicit task assignments, meeting requests

What you should have:

  • Prior experience at a healthcare agency, in a project management position or directly related experience
  • Experience managing projects from a medical education and a communications perspective
  • Experience developing project plans using Smartsheet, MS Project, or equivalent
  • Experience managing medically focussed material development including communications materials, medical events, branding and marketing
  • Experience routing review materials and task assignments
  • Experience managing internal expectations on project scope and delivery
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills; responsive and flexible to evolving responsibilities and changing environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
