The role will be home based working with travel to Group Support Lichfield A rare opportunity has arisen for a Head of Procurement & Fleet to join a fantastic organisation at the leading edge of adult social care sector. This exciting role has become available due to retirement, and you will lead a stable team supporting both regulated and non-regulated services for people with Autism, Learning Disabilities and other complex needs. The Head of Procurement and Fleet is responsible for leading the overall function including the company’s sourcing and supplier management activities and all activities related to the management of the Voyage Care vehicle Fleet with the goal of improving vendor service levels/product quality whilst providing tangible cost reductions and ensuring the Fleet is cost effective and managed with the minimum of risk. Support the business by educating, influencing and advising key stakeholders on benefits of and requirements for effective supplier and fleet management. The head office is in Lichfield but given the national remit the role could be carried out from home with visits to Lichfield and other Voyage locations and suppliers as required. Key Tasks Develop and oversee strategic sourcing activities to find and develop new suppliers for the business to drive improved supplier performance & cost reduction. Propose changes to existing supply chains, agree them with internal stakeholders who are affected and mobilise the changes in conjunction with other functions (legal, finance, operations etc) to deliver changes on time and to deliver the anticipated financial and other improvements. Responsible for managing the competitive sourcing process related to contract pricing, terms and conditions Develops, implements and drives Key Performance Measurements for areas of responsibility. Navigates and analyses complex data to identify and present opportunities Manages and develops the team to deliver business objectives as well as individual personal development goals Form strong relationship and build trust with key stakeholders in the organisation to understand business needs and to establish and strengthen strategies Reach a good operating standard of I.T. competence to be able to use Company electronic systems effectively Managing a current team of 5 Experience Required Operational experience of managing and working within large (ideally national) organisation’s procurement function in the capacity of Senior Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer (or similar) Head of Procurement with a multi-site remit 10+ Years of Procurement/Buying Experience Track Record of People Management and Development Good Communicator able to operate at all organisation levels Degree level or equivalent experience Customer focused, with excellent influencing and communication skills. The ability to work with and influence a broad range and level of stakeholders and supplier staff. Experience of working with a diverse supply base and wide geographical spread of contracts. Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of identifying and delivering substantial savings. Proficient analytical skills and a measured approach to decision making. Well-developed written, presentational and verbal communication skills. Experience of leading and managing teams Willingness to work with a hybrid approach, attending the office as required Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly Why choose us?
