Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Head of Year to join our team on a temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all pastoral matters and supporting positive behaviours in the classroom. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our students' educational journey and well-being. Key Responsibilities Pastoral Care: Provide outstanding pastoral support to students, ensuring their well-being and personal development. Develop and implement strategies to support students' social and emotional needs. Address any pastoral concerns and collaborate with parents, teachers, and external agencies as necessary. Behaviour Management: Promote and maintain high standards of behaviour and attendance. Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour effectively. Implement behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment. Leadership and Development: Act as a role model for students, setting high expectations for conduct and achievement. Lead and support form tutors in their roles. Organize and participate in year group activities, assemblies, and events. Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, parents, and staff. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to pastoral care. Qualifications and Experience Previous experience in a pastoral or behavioural support role within a secondary school setting is desirable. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
