Assistant Site Manager

The RoleDue to our continued growth, we are delighted to confirm that we are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join Fortem, based in Chorley.The Assistant Site Manager will work on a full-time basis and will lead the site teams and subcontractors in undertaking the required tasks and will be accountable for the management and planning of sub-contract labour, supporting the delivery of refurbishment programmes.Projects include medium-rise residential blocks, the replacement of combustible EWI systems with fire-compliant alternatives, and additional fire protection measures. You'll also be involved in general improvement works such as window and door replacements, fire soffit replacement, fire stopping, electrical upgrades, balcony repairs, and decorations.The ProjectResponsibilities will include:• Review any certification to ensure that works comply with appropriate standards• Ensure inspections are properly recorded on the appropriate prescribed forms of certification and reporting.• To ensure that works instructions issued to trades or subcontractors are clear, unambiguous and represent a full and fair days’ workload, at all times seeking to maximise productivity.• To lead a team of supply chain partners to solve problems associated with carrying out their works.• Enforce H&S procedures and policies.• Carry out Ad Hoc safety inspections on supply chain partners.• Carry out WIPs on directly employed trades people.• Carry out Quality Inspections on all works.• Ensure PAT testing of office equipment and plant is current.• Organise work activity and prioritisation for the team.• Accident Recording.• Managing the Welfare facilities on site.• Working with clients, supply chain partners and tenants to achieve excellent customer satisfaction.• Managing programme responsibilities.Essential/Desirable CriteriaEssential• Experience of managing construction projects at Assistant Site Manager level• Problem solving skills, analytical capability• Ability to work well under pressure• IT skills including the Microsoft Office package• CSCS Card• Full UK driving licence and the flexibility to undertake regular travelDesirable• Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance• Understanding of job costing• SMSTS• Knowledge or an understanding of EWI / external cladding replacement and fire compliance works in a residential tower block setting• Scaffold Inspection• PASMA TrainedPersonal QualitiesWe are looking for a candidate who is a fantastic communicator, someone who enjoys meeting people, attending different sites and resolving problems pro-actively.
