A boutique alternative investment fund with approximately £1bn in AUM is seeking to appoint an Portfolio Associate for a newly created position in its London-based team. This dynamic firm operates from offices in London, Europe, and the US, focusing on various private credit strategies, including distressed debt and real estate investments. The firm has experienced significant growth over the last twelve months, with headcount more than doubling. Key areas of responsibility include: Deal Support/Management: Assist Deal Leads in overseeing and maintaining relationships with third parties, including loan servicers, facility agents, sponsors, and investment partners. Review and assess lease approvals, loan modifications, and other borrower requests. Monitor adherence to loan terms, covenants, and payment schedules. Track compliance with key deadlines, milestones, and budgetary requirements. Valuations Update investment cash flow models quarterly and conduct performance scenario analyses as required. Collaborate with Deal Leads and servicers to create annual business plans. Assist the Head of Asset Management with annual investment reviews. Provide insights on market trends, economic indicators, and industry dynamics, evaluating their potential impact on deals and investments. Deal-Level Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of investment performance, including asset-level assessments for NPL portfolios. Assist in preparing monthly performance updates, quarterly portfolio reviews, and ad-hoc requests. Track investment performance to identify potential credit risks. Analyse monthly or quarterly financial statements and rent rolls, comparing them to underwriting expectations and budget projections. Our Ideal Candidate: Strong academic background. Experience in an asset management/portfolio analyst role or coming from an Advisory or TS background in a professional services firm, with circa 3-6 years of exposure to credit (NPL preferred) or real estate investments.
