We have an opportunity for a Senior HSE Advisor to join our London based client on a full-time, permanent basis. The Senior HSE Advisor will have a demonstrable background in a high-risk or highly regulated environment where they have practical experience and knowledge of auditing standards for ISO 45001. THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT * Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is desirable. * NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent professional certification. * Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and standards. * Working knowledge and experience with ISO Occupational Health and Safety. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to lead and influence others. JOB DESCRIPTION Regular Inspections: * Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections across all business units. * Identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Internal and External Audits: * Support internal HSE audits to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and customer expectations. * Facilitate external audits, perform root cause analyses, and develop corrective action plans. Incident Management: * Manage investigations into incidents and accidents, ensuring thorough analysis and reporting. * Implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks. HSE Initiatives: * Develop and implement HSE initiatives to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. * Engage employees at all levels in HSE programs and initiatives. Risk Assessments: * Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for various processes and activities within the plant. * Develop and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks. Environmental Management: * Monitor and manage environmental aspects and impacts, including waste management and energy consumption. * Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. Legal Compliance: * Maintain an up-to-date legal register and ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation. * Liaise with regulatory bodies as required. Health Hazards Monitoring: * Monitor and manage health hazards such as noise and air quality. * Implement control measures and conduct health surveillance programs. Emergency Response: * Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. * Conduct regular drills and training sessions to ensure readiness for emergencies. Team Leadership and Collaboration: * Lead and support safety specialists, HSE representatives, and the HSE committee. * Foster a collaborative approach to HSE management across all business units. KPI Management: * Develop and monitor HSE KPIs to measure performance and drive continuous improvement. * Implement control measures and conduct health surveillance programs. * Training Needs Analysis * Identify HSE training needs and develop training programs for employees * Ensure all employees receive appropriate HSE training and refresher courses.
