Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing Planned Works
Location: Hybrid Working, Office Based in North West London and Site Visits
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 (Basic Salary)

Overview:
Spencer & James Recruitment are seeking a skilled and dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join a top-tier principal contractor working on the delivery of Planned Investment Works across various contracts.
As a Quantity Surveyor within this team your role will be essential in driving the commercial success of our projects, with a particular focus on the internal and external refurbishment of high rise residential buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance Project Performance: Promote and support project team performance by ensuring key contractual obligations and strategies are effectively executed and reviewed regularly.
- Cost Management: Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) and progress reports, ensuring efficient cost control and maximizing project value.
- Tender Strategies: Understand and apply both internal and external tender strategies, working towards achieving the planned profit targets.
- Valuations & Cash Flow: Coordinate with stakeholders to agree on external valuations and manage cash flow to enhance project value.
- Final Accounts: Work alongside the Commercial Manager to finalize main and subcontract accounts.
- Subcontract Management: Ensure all subcontract management processes are completed, focusing on procurement, measurement and valuation, issuing contractual instructions/notices/orders, and maintaining health and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Commercial Acumen: Strong financial and commercial insight with a dedication to providing customer-focused service.
- Experience: Proven experience in commercial roles, with skills in maximizing value recovery, controlling costs, and managing cash flow for Social Housing Planned Works Contracts.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, Senior Surveyors, internal teams, and supply chains.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in financial reporting and software, with a thorough understanding of tender strategies and contract management.
