Manufacturing Engineering Manager

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to work for a leading Aerospace company based just outside of Burnley. You will have a background of machining and have experience of working in the aerospace or automotive sector. The role will be focused on managing and empowering your team of manufacturing engineers to be the best they can be, maintaining strong customer relationships, making big calls when required, and ensuring the operational efficiency of the business is where is needs to be. Responsibilities • Strategy development/business acumen. Rapid NPI & developing an Engineering Powerhouse. Introduce all new business. Actively support the whole business sales and operation planning process. • Establish/implement necessary strategy for creating continuous improvement at all times. Change agenda/business improvement. Drive Continuous Improvement via Lean Methodology. • Identify, initiate and support strategic partnerships internally (Site & Group) and externally to ensure appropriate resource capacity and flexibility in order to support whole business objectives. Develop and effectively manage relevant customer and supplier relationships. • Departmental efficiency/functional performance/ outputs to target. Reduce Set-up times. Continually increase the capability within the site through ensuring all staff have annual personal development plans. In particular, taking ownership and personal responsibility for developing and coaching the team and ensure succession planning is in place. • Delivering or exceeding all operational and strategic targets within the agreed budget – safety, quality, delivery, cost, cash, EVA growth & service. • Leading a team of Engineers. Developing and motivating people. Ensure the successful performance of the team through your management and leadership skills. Lead, develop and motivate staff to ensure the most effective use of people. • Contribution to teamwork across the Group. Work closely with our sister companies to deliver solutions and develop our capabilities.
