Job Summary: We are looking for both male and female Support Workers to join our team in the Leeds, Bradford, and Peterborough areas, working with young people aged 14-19 in a supported accommodation setting. The ideal candidates will be compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping young people build independence and life skills. As a Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support, helping these young individuals transition into adulthood with confidence. Responsibilities: • Support young people with daily living skills, such as meal preparation, budgeting, and maintaining a clean living environment. • Provide guidance and emotional support, helping young people manage challenges and build resilience. • Assist with life skills development, including education on household management, using public transport, and engaging in the community. • Facilitate and encourage participation in social, recreational, and educational activities to support personal growth. • Monitor progress and well-being, keeping detailed records and reporting any concerns to the team. • Help young people pursue educational, employment, or volunteering opportunities, fostering independence. • Promote a safe and positive living environment, ensuring all health and safety standards are met. • Work closely with the young person to follow their individual support plans, focusing on their personal goals and future aspirations. Qualifications: • Previous experience working with young people, particularly in a supported living or similar environment, is preferred. • Training in Health and Social Care, Youth Work, or a related field is desirable. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with young people. • Compassionate, patient, and understanding approach, especially when dealing with challenging behaviors. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
