Randstad have an opportunity available for an experienced Learning Support Officer to join the team at Belfast Metropolitan College. BenefitsOpportunity to work at one of the UK's largest FE / HE colleges£16.14 per hour (Band 5)36 hours per week as standard - Monday to FridayTerm Time canteen On site parking available (discounted & free depending on location)Enhanced holiday packageRequirements GCSE Maths and English Grade C and above plus a level 5 qualification or equivalent Minimum of 2 years' recent experience of providing support to post primary aged children or adults with disabilitiesEssential Requirement; Experience of implementing a range of support interventions/reasonable adjustments to meet the needs of young people or adults with disabilities enabling them to overcome their barriers to education and learningExcellent MS Office skillsEssential Requirement; Proven knowledge and practice of working with students who require examination access arrangementsDemonstrable knowledge of related funding mechanisms for students with disability in FE/HECandidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an enhanced Access NI check and compliance due to the nature of this workResponsibilitiesTo contribute to the development, maintenance, and co-ordination of a range of support services for students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditions to ensure that students can participate fully in their chosen course of studyTo assess the additional support needs of students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditions and implement support strategies in line with the requirements of the student pathway in a busy environmentTo provide a central point of contact for all students and prospective students with disabilities students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditionsTo review support strategies for students with students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditions in conjunction with relevant academic staffTo liaise and co-operate with other College provision and services as they relate to the support needs of the student and the development of staff trainingTo provide informed advice and information regarding several support services for students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditionsTo provide information and advice to staff and students in relation to the appropriate procedures for the administration of the Additional Support Fund, Disabled Student Allowance, the implementation of special examination arrangements and other support services within the organisationA full job description is available on requestRandstad Business Support acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
