HGV Technician

Funky Flamingo is the UK's fastest growing recruitment agency, specialising in the supply of HGV Technicians and HGV Drivers. We are now looking for a HGV Technician to work on a permanent basis with our busy and friendly client based in Northampton, Northamptonshire. This is a hands-on position that requires technical knowledge and problem solving skills. The bit about the shift pattern: - Day Shift = Monday to Friday (10 hour shifts) The bit about the pay and perks: - £44,000 a year + Overtime always available at 1.5 - Private medical insurance - Company pension - 25 days holiday - Life assurance - Annual employee well-being payment - Ongoing training and development opportunities - Full PPE provided for all climate conditions The bit about the duties: - Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and filter replacements - Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with vehicles - Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems - Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues - Order parts and materials as needed for repairs - Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed - Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment The bit about the required skills: - Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair vehicles - Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment - Knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions and brakes - Good organisational skills and ability to be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines - Initiative to work autonomously if required.
