Job Title: Workshop Assistant

Workshop Supervisor Main purpose of role:
Assist the Mechanical Technicians with various day-to-day activities in the workshop such as the inspection, testing, cleaning and painting of hydraulic equipment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Perform inspection and testing activities on rental fleet hydraulic equipment. Complete required documentation and report all defects/requirements to the Supervisor (or designate) in a timely manner. Carry out buffing/shot blasting, cleaning and where necessary painting activities on rental and customer owned equipment ensuring the equipment is in ‘as new’ condition prior to dispatch. Assist Workshop Technicians in the completion of operational tasks as required. Participate in the general day-to-day workshop and yard housekeeping activities. Carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements. Observe the company policies and procedures relating to work, administration, HSSEQ and ESG.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge: Basic understanding of mechanical and/or hydraulic equipment is desirable.
Skills & Competencies: Effective communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and within a team. Follow instructions accurately with little to no supervision. Familiar with safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Qualifications & Certification: Full UK drivers licence. National 5 Pass in English & Maths (or equivalent). B2 FLT & Overhead crane certification is desirable.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role.
Personal qualities: A proactive self-starter with a good working attitude, reliable and punctual. Strong attention to detail, works to high standards.
