Job Title: Head of Future EnergyContract: 12-Month Fixed TermSalary: Up to £85,000Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Head of Future Energy for a 12-month fixed-term role. This newly created position will lead the development and implementation of an energy strategy focused on sustainable solutions. The role involves working with public and private partners to create innovative and clean energy systems that align with Net Zero objectives.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership:Develop and execute an energy strategy that aligns with regional sustainability goals and drives the adoption of new energy technologies.Partnership Development:Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including energy providers, government bodies, and industry partners, to support collaborative energy projects.Energy Systems Innovation:Explore and implement innovative energy solutions, such as renewable energy, smart grids, and hydrogen technologies, to ensure the organization stays ahead in energy innovation.Policy and Regulatory Engagement:Work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and advocate for supportive energy policies.Stakeholder Communication:Effectively communicate the energy strategy and initiatives to various audiences, preparing reports and presentations as needed.Project Management:Oversee energy projects from planning to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.Sustainability Leadership:Promote sustainability in all energy-related activities, focusing on reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy efficiency.Key Requirements:Experience and Knowledge:Understanding of the energy needs and challenges in manufacturing and urban environments.Extensive experience in the energy sector, with a proven ability to work across public and private sectors.Knowledge of energy systems, including renewable energy, energy storage, and smart grids.Experience in building and managing strategic partnerships.(Desirable) Understanding of the financial aspects of energy projects and securing funding.Skills and Abilities:Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical information to diverse audiences.Proven project management skills with experience leading teams and managing large projects.Educational Background:Degree in Energy Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is desirable.Personal Attributes:Proactive and results-oriented with a passion for sustainability.Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong leadership qualities.
