Construction Quality Inspector *Rolling contract* *£405 per day inside IR35 / Umbrella* The role: The Council has awarded two major contracts , involving both traditional build and design-and-build contracts across five residential towers. As part of a dedicated Project Team, the Quality Inspector (Operations) will oversee the temporary relocation of residents and manage day to day operations to ensure smooth execution of the construction works. This role will be key in minimising the impact of the works on residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the project. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating resident relocations, managing contractor collaboration, and ensuring the post-construction aftercare process is effectively handled. You will work closely with contractors to ensure health and safety compliance and the delivery of high-quality construction outputs. With a focus on both operational oversight and resident engagement, you will ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets all community expectations. This role requires strong customer care, organisational and administrative skills as you'll be handling logistics, contract management, and detailed documentation throughout the project. You will also interact directly with residents, including vulnerable, elderly, or disabled individuals, ensuring their specific needs are met during relocations. Key Skills and experience: Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or operations management, ideally within residential construction or property management. Qualifications: Degree and/ or experience in a related field. Certifications such as APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent are advantageous. Knowledge: Familiarity with resident relocation processes, building standards, and health and safety regulations in the construction sector. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with residents and contractors. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages is a must. Health & Safety: In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, including Building Regulations, Planning Acts, and Fire Protection regulations.
