Job Requirements / Description

We are seeking a motivated and organized Business Support Officer to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Business and Operations Manager and staff at our Adult Education Centres. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional service, ensuring efficient office operations, and supporting students and the public with course-related queries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage confidential administrative support for the Business and Operations Manager and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Oversee standard administrative and clerical functions, including filing, record keeping, and data entry.
  • Assist in financial management tasks such as processing orders, managing accounts payable and receivable, and monitoring expenditure.
  • Coordinate events, meetings, and educational trips, ensuring all logistical arrangements are handled.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records relating to service finances, human resources, and student enrolments.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing student and public inquiries, both in person and over the phone.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the school website and sending important notifications to parents and guardians.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Adequate numeracy and literacy skills, with a relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in administration support, including report/document production and record keeping.
  • Familiarity with general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and stock maintenance.
  • Experience in a customer-centered environment and ability to handle sensitive issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in relevant IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively and manage a busy office environment.
  • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative when required.
