Join our Engineering team working on the M25 DBFO, one of Europe's busiest and most critical road networks. In this role, you'll design highway renewals and support contract changes by reviewing new standards. Collaborating within a small, multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key part in ensuring seamless coordination across internal and external stakeholders, including National Highways and Connect Plus. Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you help shape the future of this vital infrastructure project. Potential leadership of 1-2 team members may also be part of your responsibilities.
Accountabilities
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and refine design packages, including drawings and work specifications for renewal schemes (e.g., drainage, signage, fencing, VRS), ensuring alignment with asset management and client requirements.
- Support the review of new standards, assessing impacts, and aiding the Change in Standards process.
- Prepare documentation to fulfill the duties of CDM 2015 Principal Designer.
- Apply and manage quality processes to ensure adherence to standards and M25 DBFO Contract compliance.
- Collaborate with technical specialists and commercial leads to meet programme goals and key milestones, fostering strong relationships across teams.
- Provide progress updates, manage programmes, and report on assigned work.
- Schedule and chair performance, technical, and commercial review meetings.
- Supply commercial team with information for cost estimates.
- Drive continuous improvement in the Change in Standards process.
- Liaise with National Highways to review and implement new standards.
Working arrangements:
- Travel to network offices and depots as required.
- Full driving license preferred but not essential.
- Remote working opportunities available.
Personal Qualities and Experience
Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong knowledge of highway design standards, including DMRB, MCHW, and other relevant guidelines.
- Understanding of risk management principles.
- Minimum BEng/MEng (or equivalent) in civil engineering or a construction-related discipline.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Personal Attributes:

- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time independently.
Experience:
- Intermediate-level experience in highway design, delivery, or asset management, or similar transferable experience.

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we therefore expect a minimum of 60% of your time to be spent at a CPS offices.
