Director of Multiomics Data Generation Cardia Tec Biosciences LTD - 9 Hills Road, Cambridge, UK, CB2 1 GE ️ About the Job: Location: Cambridge, Oxford, London (UK) - Remote options available in UK/Europe Contract: Full-time  Compensation: Competitive Salary & Options Package  Start Date: As soon as possible Overview: This role presents a unique opportunity to drive Cardia Tec’s multiomic data generation strategy. Here, the individual will establish new and manage existing collaborations to support access to human cardiac tissues for the downstream generation of multiomics data. As a key scientific leader, we are seeking a motivated, organised and hands-on individual to help drive our fast-paced, ambitious company in its mission to generate the largest human cardiac tissue multiomics dataset to support the discovery and development of novel cardiovascular therapeutics. ️  Responsibilities:  Establish new and manage existing collaborations with hospitals, academics, and biobanks to access human cardiac tissue, blood samples, and healthcare records Manage a network of contract research organisations (CROs) for tissue processing and multiomics data generation Lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists Support in driving the short and longer-term scientific vision for multiomic data generation  Manage a research budget Engage with key stakeholders including advisors, collaborators, investors and board members from time-to-time Contribute to peer reviewed-publications, grants writing and conferences ️  Profile Considerations: At least 5 years' experience managing projects at a senior level across academia and industry involving the acquisition and processing of human tissue samples for multiomics data generation. Experienced in projects handling various omics data types across genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics and proteomics Experienced with logistics for shipping biological samples both nationally and internationally. Knowledge of ethical frameworks for handling human tissue and generating multiomics data in the US and UK. Strong management and communication skills. Team player. ️  Desirable:  Experience working with human cardiac tissue samples  Strong understanding of the anatomy of the heart and cardiovascular pathophysiology  Company Description:  Cardia Tec is a Tech Bio company employing computational methods to decode the biology behind cardiovascular disease.
