Transportation Manager

Reports to: Head of LogisticsLocation: Kingsbury (with regular travel to Southern sites)Principal Responsibilities Ensuring legal compliance and safety of all drivers and vehiclesManaging HR processes including sickness and absence, grievance and disciplinaryproceduresConducting thorough and accurate incident investigationsLiaison with unionsImplement measures to ensure that systems of work are being adhered toConduct toolbox talks/Training/driver engagement at all locationsRecruitment and selection of drivers and Traffic office teamManaging the Service, Inspection, and repair of the fleetDriver Performance managementManaging the driver & office rota and holiday planningManaging the production/compilation of risk assessments for delivery sitesProviding general leadership and direction to the transport team. Feeding back performance and applying corrective measures.Management of all aspects of driver training, assessment, and qualificationConduct monthly depot auditsLead by example in promoting a safe and compliant working environmentCommunicate effectively with other stakeholdersIdentify opportunities for process improvement and implement change to streamline the operationPersonal Specification In depth experience in all aspects of road transportExperience in fuel transportPossess good geographical knowledgeFinancial Management ExperienceNational or International CPCDemonstrable leadership skills and experienceExperienced with working in a highly unionised environment with strong administrative and communication skills
